I'm dreaming of a White Christmas

Madison, Cassie, Todd and I spent Todd's birthday and Christmas in Minnesota with Grammie and Poppa this year and we had a blast!!! There were a houseful of people...Aunt Cindy, Uncle Dennis, Keely, Aaron and Meredith were all there as well. It was so incredible to be able to be togehter this year. It's been a really long time! We played in the snow, ate, played lots of games, ate some more, went ice skating, ate, went sledding, made cookies, ate some more, and talked a lot about Twilight (Keely and Cassie!).

I was so worried that we wouldn't have snow. But I was also worried how Madison would react to her first snow experience if we did have snow. You know me...I gotta worry about something. I pictured how wonderful it would be to frolick in the snow with her and throw snowballs and make snow angels and all that good stuff. And you know how reality almost never lives up to fantasy? Well, this time it actually did!
Needless to say, it was a White Christmas and I needn't have worried about Madison...she was an absolute snow bunny!! She jumped right into the snow, stood up and immediately fell over backwards to do a snow angel. How did she know to do that? I think it was in one of the Christmas books we read together and she obviously had done her homework. She was running and jumping and squealing with delight. Dizzie the dog was in hot pursuit too...he was so excited to be in the snow with a little person!! It was increadible. The Twin Cities' had just had a snow storm a day or so before we got there so it was fresh, fluffy, sparkling, white powder. Madison and I were in Heaven :0 It was perfect. More than I ever could have hoped for for her first snow experience. And, it was extra special because it was Todd's birthday and Christmas Eve day and we were surrounded by love. What a treasured memory for all of us.

Im ready to go!

I'm a pro!!

Pretty angel!

I love the snow :)

I'm really cold and wet now but you can't make me go inside.

Where's Madison...seriously!!

So, it's been almost a year since I've blogged and I'm feeling really bad about it so here goes...let's hope I can stick with it this time.

Madison decided a while ago that sleeping in her bed was for the birds...the floor was way too much fun...who needs a soft comfy bed anyway, right? So, on one occasion, I put her to bed in her little "floor bed", tucked her in nice and tight and went to sleep. Jump ahead to next morning. I go to wake her up, open her door, and. imagine my surprise when I saw this...where's Madison? Seriously. She was not in her "floor bed" where I had left her some 10-11 hours ago. OMG...my heart stopped for a moment.

Well, see for yourself...yes, that's my kid...under the bed.
